Hi, I joined Wakefield Camera Club earlier in 2011. I knew that I liked taking
photographs and was looking to do something different. So, I turned up at the
club one evening with my compact camera, with the intention of buying a decent
camera in the future. I remember being questioned by all these DSLR users as to
what my favourite subject was and I didn’t have one – I just like taking
photographs of anything.
Members of the club were very helpful and in the end, I took the easy option and
got a Canon PowerShot G12. I never wanted to get into all the technicalities of
photography, but it does become addictive and I now find that I am starting to
shoot in RAW and selecting different options instead of the Auto button!
Whilst I am definitely a novice, I have found that I do look at everyday scenes
and events in a different way. I do want to learn more and find that the
photography presented at the club is an inspiration and I can always find
someone to talk to for advice.
