8.      The Maurice Biglin Wild Flower Trophy Competition
The definition of a Wild Flower is a flowering plant that is native to its location. It is a species, not a cultivar, it has not been introduced to that location by man and it is not an escapee from a garden, park or other cultivated area. The term flower automatically excludes Fungi.
The final decision as to how well a plant fits into the category will be at the discretion of the specialist judge.
Members may enter up to three (3) prints and they should have one of our competition labels on the back with your membership number, the competition name and the name of the plant. This is an applied competition, so the print title should be specific and as accurate as possible, ideally with the scientific name of the plant, though we will accept a common name.
The member with the winning print will hold the Maurice Biglin Wild Flower Trophy for one year and also receive a medal (or other suitable memento). 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will receive a certificate.
(see also rules 11, 12, 14. 15 and 17 to 22)

9.      The A4 Un-Mounted Print Competition(s)
Will be held over four (4) rounds throughout the year. Members may submit up to two (2) prints in each round. Prints shall be un-mounted and not larger than A4. If a member enters more than one photograph in any Un-mounted A4 Competition only their print with the highest points score in that competition will count towards the yearend total.
With the aim of encouraging members to enter all four un-mounted A4 competitions in the year, a Medal (or other suitable permanent memento) will be presented to the member obtaining the highest total points over the year. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will receive a certificate.
Each of the four (4) rounds of the competition will be judged by asking all members present to select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, (3 points will be gained for every 1st vote, 2 points for every 2nd vote and 1 point for every 3rd vote), and the winner on the night will be the print gaining most points.
(see also rules 11, 14 to 17 and 22)
Should there be a Non-Members Workshop Un-mounted A4 Competition in August the scores will not count towards the annual competition.

10.  The On-Line Monthly Competition
Each member may submit one (1) jpeg image each month by emailing the image to the Webmaster (currently David Hall at wellerchap@talktalk.net ) at any time from the 1st to the 20th of that month.
The email will contain the members name, membership number and the title of the image you’d like displaying.
Images will be resized by the webmaster for use on the webpage (please ensure they’re a minimum of 750 pixels wide)...and will be placed on a plain black background - no alteration will be made by the webmaster to the appearance (other than resizing), so think about stroke lines etc to enhance appearance on a black background before submitting.
The images will be posted on a Monthly Competition Page on our web site from the 22nd of the month (or as soon as is practical).
Each competition will be themed and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd selected by the judge at the end of the month.
Individual marks will not be given.
The December competition will be restricted to only those images that have been placed in the other monthly competitions in the year and a medal (or other suitable permanent memento) will be awarded to the winner of that competition.
An external judge will be appointed to select 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the December competition.
The winner of each monthly competition (not December) will be asked to select the theme for the next month’s competition and to judge that competition (though may not enter).
The winner of the November competition will select the theme and judge the January competition.
(see also rules 11, 14, 15, and 22)
