5th Clubman result is black and white

It was judging night for the fifth clubman competition and the theme was black and white.  Judge Geoff France was very complimentary saying he usually gave low marks often below 10 – but not tonight.  Indeed the lowest score for prints was 14. In the end it was a close run thing on the prints. The winner was Phil Gledhill with “Inlet Works”, with David Jones second with “Evening at the Boathouse” and third was Steve Womack with “Barber’s Boy”. Geoff said there was only “a gnat’s whisker” between them

When it came to the digital section Geoff said that there was a greater spread of marks but even so the bottom mark was still 13. Subjects ranged over people, animals, architecture,  flowers, trains, boats and landscapes. Again it was a very tough choice with 7 commended and 3 highly commended.  In the end, though Jack Bunn gained 3rd place with “The Library”, Peter Wells was second with “Rooms with a View” and in first place was …….. Peter Wells again with “Ebony Ivory”. Well done Peter. The images will be on the competitions gallery page soon. Thanks to Geoff France for his informative and helpful comments.
