A Trip to Northumberland by Steve Womack
On Monday evening we turned over the microphone and zoom controls to two of our members the first of these was Steve Womack who gave a us trip around the coast and inland areas of Northumberland.
It is clear that Northumberland is an area that Steve loves to explore and photograph. We started at Bamburgh Castle with images from many angles and showing the effect that different lighting can bring to the atmosphere of an image, then we headed inland to Cragside, an extraordinary Victorian house and gardens managed by the National Trust. It was out to the coast next covering the beautiful areas of Craster, Dunstonburgh Castle, emblazon Bay before heading to Seahouses for a boat out the Farne Islands. Whilst out at the Farne Islands Steve was able to get close up with many thousands of birds including Terns, Shags and of course Puffins complete with Sandeels. Returning to land we made our way across the causeway to Lindisfarne Castle located on Holy Island.
Steve could not resist finishing his tour much closer to home with the inevitable images of Steam Trains, taken on at the Light railway.
