The subject for the May online competition was “Abstracts” and that had plenty of people scratching their heads. How abstract can it be? How often do you go out to shoot an abstract? Well a goodly number had a go and I must say I am impressed with the skill and the imagination shown. This month’s judge was Sarah Cremer and she had the job of picking out the winners and now we find out what she made of it all.
I just wanted to start by saying what difficult job it was for me to judge the abstract images. They all fit the theme and I can honestly say that I thought they were really good so its made it actually a really hard job. Id like to give more awards out but I know I can’t so here we go:
1st – Lines at the Lowery – I loved the use of lines, colours and shape. Well seen and a cracking image.
2nd – Slither – Good use of shape, form and colour. Quite unusual and something different. I loved its simplicity
3rd – Rocca – A lovely light abstract image. I kept getting drawn back to this one with all the shapes. Well done
Honourable mentions –
Coalition of curves – a gritty image good use of shape.
Cooling off – I thought it was well seen and there was good use of colour through the image.
Really well done done everyone. I really was spoilt for choice.
So now you know. Have a look at the images in the gallery below and wonder at the creative minds we have. Next month the subject is “Sunsets“. Get out there with your cameras and put an entry in.
