Architecture in January
To kick the 2022 online competitions of to a great start Mark, the winner from 2021 was given the task of judging the Architecture images.
The standard of photographs entered this month has overall been very high and made the job of picking a winner very difficult. I have looked at the set of images on a number of times and placings have moved, but I have now eventually come to a final decision on the final placings.
1st Place goes to Steve Womack with his image Ingenuity Centre – Jubilee Campus. Everything about this image worked for me, from the colour pallet through to the reflection in the water.
2nd Place went to Trevor Bottomley with his image Brewery Wharf, Leeds. The very wide angle used made for a very dramatic and captivating composition that I really liked.
3rd Place went to Robert Bilton with V and A Dundee. The geometry of shapes within the image leading to the central figure made this image stand out, the eye is drawn to the figure then moves around the image.
Congratulations to the winners and good luck for the February competition, the subject of which is Shapes.
