On the 1st of November Wakefield Camera Club hosts the last of this years Members showcase evenings. These were introduced this year as something different to the syllabus, and they have really been a worthwhile addition, and I’m sure this session will be no different.
We have Steve Wright and President Peter Wells providing the evenings talks so grab a seat early and enjoy the evening!
We will be running these in 2022 so we look forward to seeing what you enjoy photographing!
On Monday the 15th November, Wakefield Camera Club welcomes local Aviation Photographer Ian Sykes to present a talk all about Aviation Photography – Originally put together to show the images were not cut and paste composites, but taken from hanging outside of Aircraft Doors and climbing Alpine Mountains to get the shots!! There will be a mix ground based images and some alongside planes in flight, it sure will be an evening not to be missed.
The presentation will be shown at Brookhouse so grab a seat early!
In this presentation UK Photographer, Educator and Author Glyn Dewis will talk about the importance of personal projects and how they are the key to developing as a Photographer. Glyn will also go through his current 39-45 Portraits Project where he (until lockdown) was touring the UK photographing surviving World War 2 Veterans; an entirely self-funded project that has gained National News Coverage but with the sole intention of providing Veterans and their families with classic, timeless portraits. Glyn will also go through some Veterans stories and also the photography and lighting he uses to take these Veteran Portraits on location and will finish the presentation with some examples of retouching techniques he regularly turns to. You can check out Glyn’s main website at https://www.glyndewis.com and also the 39-45 Portraits Project website at https://www.3945portraits.com
On the 6th December, Wakefield Camera Club welcomes back Life Member John Gardner to present his Annual Retrospective. An evening not to be missed it really is a highlight of the year. Given the challenges of Covid, it will be interesting to see how John’s year has been spent behind the camera.
Grab your seats early for this one!
All welcome to the AGM and it is a free evening!
Its an evening where you get to shape the clubs future, so please make every effort to attend.
Please note, this will be held on Zoom, so log in early and grab a seat.
As this will not be held at Brookhouse, there will not be a curry afterwards
