Inspiration for Beginners
Members had waited many months for this evenings guest speaker, our very own Sara Cremer. They were not disappointed, the evening was a great success and thoroughly enjoyable. Sara took us on a journey starting from simple beginnings on ‘auto’ to making that step into the world of ‘manual’ that allowed her to push her creativity and one of her favourite genres long exposure landscape photography. Sara explained how she learnt a lot from reading and retrying until slowly her confidence grew. Working closely with a friend for support and guidance she was able to submit her panel to the Royal Photographic Society in 2014, where she was awarded her LRPS. You can see Sara’s LRPS panel in the gallery below. Sara explained that she uses a Nikon D750 together with a range of long and short zoom lenses and a macro lens for that close up work which she loves to do. Sara has saved hard for her photographic equipment often trading in to make the next step.
The evening was spent on a journey through Sara’s fantastic images each accompanied by its own story told in her own humourous style. There was something for everyone. It was interest to hear Sara explain that she sees her images better in black and white and usually knows what an image will look before she has pressed the shutter button. You can see a small selection of Sara’s images in the gallery below but to see more of her great work follow these links to her social media pages, Instagram(1) , Instagram(2), Facebook and 500px.
On reflection and after hearing the great round of applause from the members and the generous and supportive comments we would suggest that Sara renames her presentation to ‘Inspiration for Everyone’. A Great evening and we look forward to welcoming you back for the next instalment. Thank you Sara.
