The Camera Club Ridings Exhibition 2017
Last week saw the annual exhibition by Wakefield Camera Club in The Ridings shopping centre. This year there was a change of location to the middle floor with more space and more people passing by. It was an excellent display of the tremendous work produced by a wide range of club members. Subjects cover portraits, landscapes, animals, black and white, creative, street photography – you name it and it was there. The increase in passers-by led to a good increase in those stopping to view the prints and comfortably surpassed last year’s 350. People stopped and took time to have a good look at the works over Friday and Saturday and Sunday (we don’t count people who only have a quick glance!). The comments have been very favourable with many visitors saying it is the highest standard they have seen for a long time. Many visitors stop to talk about the images which have impressed them and the volunteers from the club staffing the stands are frequently engaged in long conversations with them. In all a big success and thanks to Malcolm for organising it all and all the volunteers who came along to erect the exhibition, staff it over the three days and then dismantle it all. You can gain some impression of the exhibition from the images on the page and in particular the time lapse movie on this page (thanks Peter).
